Directions: Use straight before exercise to warm up and stimulate cold, stiff muscles and joints, rubbing briskly into desired area to soothe. As a warming or cooling wash, dilute 1 part liniment to 20 parts warm or cold water. Apply cold after exercise for a refreshing and soothing rinse that cuts through grease and sweat.
When deciding how to use Liniment on a horse, a good rule is that cold treatment is suitable for cooling as a preventative after hard work or for “fresh trauma” as cold minimizes the inflammatory response and can work as an analgesic. Older issues such as age related changes and sore areas would benefit more from heat, so the liniment should be used straight as a brisk rub or mixed with warm water for a heating wash. A tack box essential.
Note: If using for first time, test on a small area of skin 24 hours before full application to establish suitability. Do not use on cracked or broken skin.
